Here, we differentiate between

  • Short-cut production line
    • For shapes such as macaroni, fusilli, penne
  • Long-cut production line
    • For shapes such as spaghetti, spaghettini, tagliatelle, lasagne
  • Nidi/lasagne production line
    • For shapes such as tagliatelle nests, matasse, lasagne

The output capacity of each production line ranges from very small amounts around 100 to 200 kilograms per hour, which are useful for laboratory purposes, to astronomical outputs of 9,000 kilograms per hour in short-cut pasta production and 5,000 kilograms per hour in long-cut pasta production.

The lower outputs are generally represented by manual production facilities.

  • Pasta press – shaking pre-dryer, possible as combination dryer for spaghetti pre-drying – static dryer, or possibly semi-automatic production lines
  • Pasta press – shaking pre-dryer – semi-automatic belt dryer for pre-drying and final drying

If static dryers are used, production of short-cut and long-cut pasta can be combined using the same pasta press.

The higher output capacities from 500 kilograms per hour are achieved exclusively with continuous fully automatic production lines.
